Ziwani Farm a private farm and a subsidiary of Settenda Enterprises and is family owned and have been in the production of stable food for over 20 years. They are interested in improving the dimension of working with local communities to increase marketable volumes and quality of produce. Settenda Enterprises own Ziwani and Nabukondo farms.

Ziwani Farm is bordered by Lake Wamala and covers an area of 180 acres. It is a favourable launch pad for investments in agriculture that can meet this increased demand for food. The farm is located in the sub county of Banda (with an estimated population of 60,000 people) well serviced by feeder roads and therefore within easy reach of the surrounding counties and main roads as it is only thirty kilometres from the Mityana district Headquarters.

Ziwani farm therefore intends to build on the traditional methods of agriculture and introduce new and innovative specific production technologies methods that not only rely on the abundant environmental resources available but transcend the traditional by introducing contemporary methods like recycling concepts to ensure the waste is not only minimal but the process is ecologically balanced.

We feel Ziwani farm is well positioned to initiate and develop a scalable system better prepared to respond to long-term demand growth and be more resilient against various risk factors that confront the regions agriculture, and thus ensuring that it will produce adequate food today and in future and that the region would benefit considerably from such an intervention.
